St. Augustine, FL - Day 1

We left Jacksonville Beach, Palm Cove Marina Fuel Dock, this morning at 8:30 am after fueling up and pumping out, and we arrived on our mooring in the south mooring field in St. Augustine at 1:45 pm.  We traveled 31 miles, mostly in the fog.  The weather did not clear up as forecast.

It was a very easy run and I took lots of photos.  So I will post them, with captions.  If they seem to appear a little foggy, well.....it was foggy!

Still in Jacksonville Beach, right after leaving the marina.

These next few are homes in the exclusive neighborhood
of Ponte Vedra Beach

 The homes were on the East side of the ICW;
This is their private canal

And this is what the West side of the ICW looks like

Back to the East side, South of Ponte Vedra Beach,
some of the less expensive homes.....

And some cute Christmas decorations to boot....

Manatee with a Santa hat!!!  Love it!

This guy was about as happy with the fog as we were

The West side looked desolate and beautiful

Still nice homes on the East side

 Unusual, beautiful wooded lot

Waves breaking at the St. Augustine Inlet,
We skirt the Atlantic Ocean once again

Our first glimpse of St. Augustine

Waiting for the Bridge of Lions Bridge to open at 1:30 pm

Passed through and headed to our assigned mooring

View of Bridge of Lions from the mooring

We took a short walk through town; it was crowded and we
came back to the boat before dark.  Plan to spend most of the day
tomorrow sightseeing
Greg and the pups
