Titusville, FL

We left New Smyrna Beach at 8:30 am and arrived Titusville at 1:00 pm, traveling 33 miles.  The sun came out and the wind and current were with us.  It was a good day, until we were about a mile outside Titusville.  The winds picked up and were gusting over 30 mph.  The mooring field only had a few boats in it, but it was too windy and too choppy out there to pick up a mooring ball, so we hailed Titusville Municipal Marina and asked for a slip.

The wind continued to be a challenge as we came to our slip, which was half-way down the dock and only a few feet wider than our boat.  Greg did a remarkable job of maneuvering the boat, making U-turns, and backing up until we finally got her in the slip.  The dockmaster and another boat owner helped us with the lines, two bow, two stern, and two spring lines, to hold us in place.  The wind was wicked.

Photos of the docking were not taken as every effort and movement required 100% concentration, but here are a few photos from the run prior to docking:

 Sunshine!  The skies cleared today...

 Dock full of birds

 Waterside camp site (for Bob)

More birds (we continue to see dolphin everyday, but I still
can't get photos.  Now we are hearing that cruisers are seeing Manatees, so
we are on the lookout).

After recovering from the docking experience, I took the pups to Sandpark, right next to the marina.  I had heard there was a nice off-leash dog park there.  They has such fun, running and playing with the other dogs, and getting to run more than a few feet to chase the ball!
