We are going to stay another day here at Osprey Marina. It's raining really hard, plus we had some issues with our brand new fresh water pump last night, so we wanted to check that out.
Regarding the pump, It would not shut off automatically after running the water. Greg determined it was a relay switch that was defective, so he replaced it with our backup pump, and all is now well. We were going to take the defective one to West Marine and swap it out for a new one for backup, but we discovered we are in the Bible Belt.....West Marine is closed today!
Most transient boaters, along with us, are up in the marina grill (which is closed today), sitting at the tables and using their free Internet which does not reach any of the boats. Even though the grill is closed, they do have coffee on, as well as a microwave and toaster, with honey buns, cinnamon bread, bagels, and various other snacks available for free. On check in yesterday, they gave us a bag full of snacks, laundry soap & dryer sheets, a whistle, small shampoo & conditioner, etc. First time any marina has done that! Plus they are cheap...only $30.00/night! We learned that this property was formerly a gravel pit and when the gravel ran out, they turned it into a marina, they dredged a channel to the ICW, and they built a nice little tucked away spot in the middle if nowhere.
No photos today....can't take the camera out without getting it soaked in the rain. We should be in Georgetown on the Waccamaw River tomorrow night.
