We arrived in Solomon's Island, MD at 3:30 pm this afternoon. It was a day on the water much like yesterday, except we saw more of the sun. The winds were still out of the West at 15 kts, with gusts to 25 kts. We traveled about 30 nm, leaving Herrington Harbour at 8:35 am.
We are tied up at Calvert marina on Back Creek. We are all pretty tired, especially poor Oscar who was sea sick again today. The sailing was easy, but the wave action was rough and we were tossed around a bit. The weather is still too cold to anchor, so we will continue to tie up in marinas for the shore power for our heater. I think Oscar is going to loose all his baby fat on this trip ;-)......
We are contemplating whether or not to head on tomorrow or to stay another night here at Solomon's. We want to get further south as quickly as possible and into Norfolk by Monday, because now we hear a Nor'easter is brewing and we want to be out of the Bay if the weather turns bad. But it would be nice to give poor Oscar a break. The forecast for tomorrow is the same 15-25 kt. winds with 2' swells.
