Thunderbolt, GA

Since we had to cut yesterday short, we did the logical thing....make up for it today.  And it would have worked great if only we had made the 4:30 pm opening of the Causton Bluff Bridge on the Wilmington River just off the Savannah River.  Since we didn't make the 4:30 opening, we had to wait around for 50 minutes for the 5:30 pm opening.  That put us at the dock at 6:00 pm.  We left Dawtaw Island Marina at 8:15 am, traveling 67 miles!  And we put another State behind us.  We are tied up at Thunderbolt Marina for the night.

While it was a long day on the water, it was also one of the easiest days we've had for a while.  Plenty of wide, deep water and the current was with us the majority of the way.  We were able to use the auto pilot most of the day.

We had numerous dolphin sightings, however, still no pictures.  Those guys are just too fast.  We did see plenty of beautiful marshland, homes, and some other boats (the Holiday is over....time to move on!).
